A memorandum of understanding on cooperation has been signed between “Azerxalcha” JSC and “Azeripek” LLC as a continuation of significant steps taken to create, develop, and promote the “Azerbaijan Carpet” brand in foreign markets.
AZERTAC reports that the document was signed by Emin Mammadov, Chairman of “Azerxalcha” JSC, and Zaur Yagubov, Director of “Azeripek” LLC. In addition to the heads of both organizations, other representatives also attended the meeting.
Opening the event with a speech, Emin Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of “Azerxalcha” JSC, spoke about the art of Azerbaijani carpet weaving, the state's attention and care for this field, and the significant changes and plans intended for the near future. He stated that the approval of the “State Program on the Preservation and Development of Carpet Art in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2018-2022” by the relevant Decree of President Ilham Aliyev is a demonstration of the high attention and care given to carpet weaving. The successful implementation of the State Program indicates that greater achievements will be attained in this field. One of the main objectives of the State Program is the export of Azerbaijani carpets as a national brand to the world market.
The Chairman of the Board also added that First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, who plays a significant role in the development of our national culture, also makes valuable contributions to the preservation of carpet weaving art.
Emin Mammadov emphasized that not only traditional carpets with national patterns but also carpets created with modern and innovative young local and foreign carpet artists should be introduced to foreign markets, meeting the demands of the modern market. Successfully established collaborations in this direction are the right path for development.
Later, Zaur Yagubov, Director of “Azeripek” LLC, provided the participants with detailed information about the organization he leads and the work it has carried out so far and shared his ideas for future successful cooperation. Both organizations expressed satisfaction in establishing active relations for the development of local silk production, expanding these relations, and building successful, mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest based on the signed memorandum.
According to the memorandum, “Azerxalcha” JSC will purchase silk yarn from “Azeripek” LLC for carpet weaving, cooperation will be established to support the sale of produced goods, and experience will be exchanged in the organization of wool and silk yarn production processes.
It should be noted that previously “Azerxalcha” JSC did not produce silk carpets. From now on, the silk yarn obtained from “Azeripek” LLC will be used to weave new and experimental carpets. All types of woven carpets will soon be introduced to both the local and international markets.
