According to the decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated November 6, 2017, the **Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation** JSC has completed its fourth year of operation.
The establishment of the Corporation is one of the important steps taken for the future development of the country’s economy. Its main objectives are to increase the efficiency of state property management, create favorable cooperation between enterprises under its management, carry out reconstruction for the implementation of advanced technologies, apply modern management mechanisms, and strengthen production potential.
During its operational period, **Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation** JSC has carried out a significant series of measures aimed at increasing industrial production volume and quality, and improving the material well-being of the population, primarily through creating new jobs, especially in the regions.
These measures include institutional development activities, formation and restructuring of subsidiary companies, attracting new investments, transitioning to innovative electronic management systems, automating business processes, agile risk management, adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and involving staff in international certification exams and training. The results of these measures are already yielding benefits.
Within the framework of institutional development, subsidiary companies’ development strategies were prepared, ERP systems were implemented to automate business processes, financial management was aligned with international standards, and the Corporation’s financial statements were audited and published according to IFRS. These achievements were made possible thanks to a professional team and strong team spirit. The Corporation consistently focused on professional development, involving staff in internationally recognized certification programs and trainings, which enabled successful implementation of major projects. Currently, the Corporation has established 19 subsidiary enterprises across various sectors of the non-oil industry, including socially and economically significant companies like **Azəralüminium** MMC, **Azərpambıq ASK** MMC, **ASK Tobacco** MMC, and **Azəripək** MMC.
**Azəralüminium** MMC, a subsidiary, is one of the leading enterprises in the country’s non-ferrous metallurgy industry. Strategic steps have been taken for the development of aluminum production, diversification of sales, access to new markets, cost optimization, and application of advanced production technologies. An initial agreement was signed between **Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation**, its subsidiary **Azəralüminium** MMC, and Germany’s **Achenbach Buschhütten** company. This collaboration will enable production of aluminum products with advanced technologies, expanding the market for value-added aluminum products, including hot-rolled aluminum used in automotive, aviation, telecommunications, and other industries. Additionally, projects such as modernization of the Ganja clay-ore plant, establishing a mineral enrichment plant in Dashkasan, calcination of petroleum coke, and construction of anodic block plants are underway. Geological exploration in Dashkasan’s “Zəylik” alunite deposit with the UK’s **MICON** company supports these projects.
In the cotton sector, over a thousand new agricultural machinery units were provided to improve planting, cultivation, and agro-technical practices. **Azərpambıq ASK** MMC plays a key role in cotton supply, processing, and export. ICT infrastructure and electronic systems were implemented to improve management, resource planning, and monitoring of cotton fields using satellite imagery. The Agjabadi Cotton Processing Plant was modernized, increasing processing capacity from 28 tons to 200 tons per day, improving efficiency and product quality. Similar upgrades were carried out in Saatli, Beylagan, Bilasuvar, and other regions. Over the past four years, cotton was cultivated on 29,000 hectares, increasing yield by 1.5 times, with raw cotton supply rising from 56,566 tons in 2018 to 92,783 tons in 2020.
In accordance with the **2017–2021 State Program for Tobacco Development**, a modern Tobacco Production and Processing Complex with Italian technologies was established in Balakan with a 9-ton capacity, later expanded in Sheki. Today, four modern tobacco production and processing facilities operate in Balakan, Zagatala, Gakh, and Sheki.
Following the **2018–2025 State Program for Silk and Sericulture Development**, the Ministry of Agriculture and **Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation** engaged local and international consultants to prepare a production and marketing strategy for **Azəripək** MMC. A consortium of US and Turkish companies won the tender to develop the strategy, which is now being discussed with relevant departments.
A memorandum was signed between **Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation** and **Uzbekipeksanoat Association** to develop sericulture and silk production, improve raw silk processing, and enhance production and sales of silk products. Equipment and spare parts were supplied from Uzbekistan, and modernization and optimization of production lines are ongoing. New cotton waste (wata) processing lines were established, increasing the diversity of products exported internationally. These efforts aim to double production capacity, optimize processing, and continue producing silk carpets and other silk products.
Through strengthening and developing its subsidiaries, **Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation** contributes significantly to turning the non-oil sector into a central driver of the economy. Modern, innovative methods are being applied to produce export-oriented products and increase their access to global markets.
In its fourth year, the Corporation strives to fulfill the trust and responsibilities entrusted by the country’s leadership, serving Azerbaijan with full dedication and contributing to the development and prosperity of territories liberated by the victorious Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev.
